FretFire Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 As the title says, I'm putting my recently purchased Satchurator up on the block. It's a cool pedal, just doesn't fit my style as well as I'd expected. I've just had it for a few weeks, hasn't left the apartment. Will ship in original box with manual, etc. I'd be happy to take photos if anyone wants to see them. How about $110 shipped/paypal'd, CONUS? I can also do USPS money orders. As far as trades, I'm pretty interested in the Xotic AC and RC boosters, or other light overdrives to use for lower gain stuff and to boost a BB preamp I just picked up. I'd be happy to throw a little cash on the deal to make up a bigger price difference. I've done a few deals here, several over at the Seymour Duncan forums (same username), and you can check my Ebay feedback under the name ajaxmac.NOTE: I will be out of town from 12/21 to 1/3, but I'll probably take the pedal with me in case a deal pops up in that time, if it's not gone by then.
zzdat Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I have one and it's going back to MF tommorow. Not what I expected at all, very hard to get a balanced tone, either too tinny or too much bottom, to meit almost reached fuzz territory when the gain is cranked. But, I just scored the Radial Bones London and Fullerton pedals. They are both light years better than the Satch pedal. The London does cranked high gain Marshall, The Fullerton is my favorite, anything from stoneslow gain fender od to all out smooth high gain, very even and nice sounding pedals, lots of tonal options on both of them.Good luck with the sale.Cool BeansGene
FretFire Posted December 18, 2008 Author Posted December 18, 2008 The Satch is good for what it's made to do, which is to be a high-gain lead box. I can cop most of the tones off of Joe's last couple of albums with it and my strat w/ a DiMarzio Breed in the bridge. To me it sounds like a hot rodded Boss DS1, which makes sense seeing that Joe used a DS1 for several years. I just happen to like the BB Preamp better for my style of playing.I actually found out that the two sound pretty nice when run together, with the BB after the Satch and the gain set pretty low on both. Very thick and quick to harmonic feedback, good for modern fusion type stuff. But, there's just too much overlapping territory for me to keep both, and I'd rather start playing with clean boosts and lower gain OD pedals to add to my board.
