  1. Not poking fun or anything, but how much do the real upper end PRS's go for? The limited Dragon's, Elfs, or Gargoyles, or what ever they are. Is this that far out of line with those prices. Cool Beans Gene
  2. Gold knobs? WTF? I actually like the knobs like that. I guess that's why they make chocolate and vanilla. conorb I like them too! Contrast is good Cool Beans Gene

Acoustic acoustic amp, great little stage acoustic amp Probably a few more minor amps, along the way. My Favorite amp was the 75 Marshall Mark II, with the sound City cabs, they were early 70's cabs with really nice grey frame Fane speakers That amp was living breathing thing. Cool Beans Gene
  4. Man, I remember hauling one of those around in a band, also a hammond B3, and a Leslie 147 tone cabinet across the country for a while. They took up alot of truck space and were back breakers, but no doubt about it, sounded great. I'm still looking for a deal on a good condition 147 tone cabinet locally. I still rememeber THAT sound of moving air swirl.
  5. looks like like someone loved that guitar alot. It's been playyyed. cool beans Gene
  6. One of the newer Sunbursts done for the HFC III or IV, I don't remember which one. Great guitars, a flat top Sunburst done right! Cool Beans Gene
  7. I did a sit in last week and the amp on stage was a Marshall JMC 2000 601. I hated the amp for gain tones. Too gritty and harsh. The third OD channel was just the same but with more gain. Whats the world comming too when the best sound out of a Marshall was the clean channel. This amp dosen't even come close to the JMC 2000 Dual super lead that I use for most gigs. Yuck! Can I say Yuck again! Cool Beans Gene
  8. I have one of the first year DSL 50 watters. In classic crunch mode it gets a very good old school Marshall crunch. cleans up a bit when you turn the guitar down too. I've had a few vintage Marshall pieces, an early 70's 50 watt small box head, and the first run of non master mark II's from 1975. I had these when they were new. The DSL is very close for a master volume amp to the old school crunch sound, it misses a little by not having quite the bright upper mid/top end the other amps had, but it's very close. Like most master volume amps they do sound better the higher you can get the master volume. I use a Marshall Power Brake one or two clicks attenuated so I can run the master little higher with out peeling paint off the wall. I've been told by other players that the DSL I have is better than most, so maybe I just got a very good one. Cool Beans Gene
  9. Ordered this before they hit the stores after seeing Matt Smith with the prototype at a clinic at Sim's Music. Ebony board, wide flame Mmmmm.
  10. Give the Carvin Cobalts a try. Really nice playing and sounding boxes for the money. If you don't like it send it back. I've played two of them, very consistant, I imagine a 12 string Cobalt would be a breeze to play given the neck and setup that the Carvins have. They have a 100.00 off sale going at the moment also. Cool Beans Gene
  11. I had this one converted at Hamer. It cost tice what I paid for the guitar, but it's cool Beans! http://home.mindspring.com/~zzdat/sitebuil...es/Mvc-085f.jpg Cool Beans Gene
