Hi,

The jack in my Artist is loosen. When I want to take it out to tigthen the 'clip' i found that

it is a 'shielded' jack and I can't access the tips. Any idea how can I fix it?

Thanks

Replace with switchcraft 151 jack

-or-

Use a cable with switchcraft tips

+1 for the Switchcraft plug.....

If you are using any kind of "Eastern" plug the diameter is actually 6.30mm and True 1/4" is actually 6.35mm.... it does make a difference.... upgrade the cable...

ProLine barrel style input jacks work well, too. I think it's model number GC1111 (yes, the evil Guitar Center sells 'em). They're stereo plugs but just wire it as mono and you get the added benefit of having 3 'clips' holding the cord in place instead of 2. They're a little shorter than the stock barrel jacks but there's enough thread to make 'em snug (got 'em on 3 of my Hamers).

Plus, the jack input seems a bit 'undersized'---switchcraft plugs are TIGHT in these suckers.

YMMV.

Take it to your local dealer, Hamer just started a new barrel jack that is a beautiful piece of work! I just got a bunch and have been putting them and they are the best.

If you can't get what you want locally drop me a line.
