Turdus Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Replace with switchcraft 151 jack-or-Use a cable with switchcraft tips
pesocaster Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Replace with switchcraft 151 jack-or-Use a cable with switchcraft tips +1 for the Switchcraft plug..... If you are using any kind of "Eastern" plug the diameter is actually 6.30mm and True 1/4" is actually 6.35mm.... it does make a difference.... upgrade the cable...
tomteriffic Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 A better-fitting replacement jack is also available from Kaman customer service. Call and ask for Kim Keller.
hudpucker Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 ProLine barrel style input jacks work well, too. I think it's model number GC1111 (yes, the evil Guitar Center sells 'em). They're stereo plugs but just wire it as mono and you get the added benefit of having 3 'clips' holding the cord in place instead of 2. They're a little shorter than the stock barrel jacks but there's enough thread to make 'em snug (got 'em on 3 of my Hamers).Plus, the jack input seems a bit 'undersized'---switchcraft plugs are TIGHT in these suckers. YMMV.
anotherfreak2 Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Take it to your local dealer, Hamer just started a new barrel jack that is a beautiful piece of work! I just got a bunch and have been putting them and they are the best.If you can't get what you want locally drop me a line.
laiben Posted July 2, 2005 Author Posted July 2, 2005 Thanks guy.I am using the planet wave cable. And it still loose. I think maybe it's time to replace the jack?I am going to order a stewmac jack for replacementhttp://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electronics,_p...utput_Jack.htmlUnfortunately I am living in HongKong. It is not easy to get guitar replacement parts, let alone Hamer dealer...
