hamerican gigolo Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Members of HFC! I need a set of replacement speakers for my amp.It is a 2x10 open backcombo,Fender derived. It is basicly a lower wattage Vibrolux Reverb. My amptech recommended the Eminence Copperhead.Anyone familiar with these?Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.
bruce919 Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 I have a set of Weber Alnico Silver 10" I took from my Valvetech. That do clean & slightly overdrive tones very well but thay get they peter out when you get the gain pumped. I will sell the pair for $150 plus shipping.
Guest galejt Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 I have a set of 10s, Weber, one is a 20watt blue pup, the other is their version of a C10N, great bottom and distortion. Both are 16 ohm.JimEdited to add: For Sale by the way.
Scottcrud Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Webers or Eminence would be my recomendation. Check out their websites, both are very informative and the Weber guy will e-mail you back fast.
Guest teefus2 Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 i have a trutone 2x10 with the small oval porthole in the back. right now it has a weber thames and a weber alnico blue pup. the low end is brutal and they mix very well. i have heard good things about the copperhead but have yet to play one myself. weber makes some other great 10's. between the webers and the emis you should be able to get just what you want.
BadgerDave Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 I just got off the phone with the guys at Savage Audio. They strongly recommended apair of Celestion Vintage 10s for my Vibrolux Reverb.I was surprised too!
