Halowords Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 Hey Everybody,I am selling my 1995 American Hamer Studio with a '59 Burst and wraparound bridge. I am asking $750. I got the guitar in '07 off of here from errolsiegel. The link to the original sale is below:http://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/index.p...c=19378&hl=Reason for sale . . . Basically, I want to get a dog, my wife wants to get new siding for our house. So I am selling the guitar to help fund the siding and smooth the transaction of acquiring a new dog. Weird, eh?As for the guitar. Right before I purchased it the guitar was professionally set up Austin Vintage Guitar. Since then, it has not gotten played much at all. I really like the guitar, however when I got it I was in grad school with a 3-hour daily commute, and shortly afterward I graduated then had my first child. As such, it is virtually in the exact same shape as when I got it. I always wash my hands and take off my wedding ring before I play guitar, I do not smoke, and do not let kids play my guitar.Condition of the guitar: It is in great shape. It sounds brighter than my Heritage H-150 (the only electric guitar I'll be keeping unless things get dire with the home improvements) yet still has a nice smooth sound. It is really a pretty sounding instrument. The neck is my favorite neck I have ever had on a guitar which makes it (for me at least) really fun to play. It is thick enough to be comfortable and yet still plays pretty fast in my opinion. The fairly heel-less design also makes it really pretty easy to reach and play the upper-frets.Anyway, again I am asking $750 shipped in the continental U.S. While it is not on eBay, my username is halowords if you want to check out my feedback (100%). Let me know if you have any questions. Pics will be posted below.-Cheers
Halowords Posted July 5, 2009 Author Posted July 5, 2009 That white crescent is just a reflection, I think from the flash shining on a thumb print. See the close-up below for a better view. Along the edge by the horn there is some very light sort of discoloring. Not really noticeable and not through the finish, might be able to be buffed out (I'd presume so, but thought I'd mention it). Also right where the flash is along the bottom edge is another small white finish discoloration that I think could be buffed out. Neither is big or noticeable (I never noticed them until today and not until I got up really close and looked), but I do enjoy full disclosure when I buy things so thought others might appreciate it as well. Let me know if you have any questions or any requests (other than I should weed & feed and water my lawn, I'm working on it). -Cheers

Halowords Posted July 5, 2009 Author Posted July 5, 2009 yep, its a perfect match to my artist. Im seriousl interested if i can unload my albatross (the esp custom for sale)I ll keep an eye on it so as not to miss it. i forget, did you say you bouht it new?Hey Landon, I got it used. The story is that it was bought new by a guy who planned to learn to play guitar but never did so it sat unused for years. Then the previous owner Errol got it and played it (fittingly enough) as a studio guitar and not his gig guitar. He had it set up and then I bought it off of him and due to grad school and a baby haven't had the time to play it nearly as much as I would like to. Since I also have a Heritage H-150 (essentially a Les Paul) it is already covering the same bases, so to speak, and like everybody else with the economy, need the money and space for other things.Short answer, I'm the third owner, only the second to actually play it and only the person before me did any significant playing time on it.If you sell your ESP and are still interested, let me know. Best of luck with your sale regardless!-Cheers
Halowords Posted July 7, 2009 Author Posted July 7, 2009 Great looking top on that one! Good luck with the sale. Hey thanks! Unfortunately it doesn't play fetch or bark when strangers come by. thanks. sending you a PM Landon Got it. If you sell your guitar a/o end up with extra cash feel free to buy it. -Cheers
Halowords Posted July 12, 2009 Author Posted July 12, 2009 Just thought I'd bump it up. I'll probably keep it on here for another week or two while I sell some motorcycle parts then move it over to eBay. Anyway, it is still available and not on eBay just yet. Of course, if anybody's interested in FZR400 parts or a YZF600R engine, I've got you covered there too. -Cheers
Halowords Posted July 16, 2009 Author Posted July 16, 2009 Hey everybody. I got a requests for closeups of the frets, neck, and case. The pictures are clickable thumbnails, so you can click on them for larger close-up pics. I did the best I could with my camera, but wasn't able to get much on the frets. Notes as follow . . . Frets: Sorry, nothing shows. I tried close-ups with and without flash. All I can say is they were just leveled off, seem to be like new, just light visual scratching on the first three frets where you can see where the strings have been pressed, but it honestly feels like new, the frets seem very beefy and they were done just before I got it and proceeded to NOT play it much. If anybody knows a way to get a good fret-shot, I can try. Really, they look and feel pretty much like new unless you look REALLY close and can see some light cosmetic scratching. You will never know it is there unless you're looking at it closely with the strings bent out of the way. Anyway, pictures below. The neck. I just took another look and feel. As far as I can tell, it is perfect. Best design and feel of a neck I have ever had. The nearly heel-less design is the best thing about Hamers. Besides that, no nicks, dings, nothing I can tell, just a smooth neck. Not a mark on it. Lighting wasn't great, I can take outside shots once weather and my schedule cooperate, but you can get a decent look at the neck in the pics below. -Cheers A few more pics, just because I took them. Final pic of the frets. This one sucks, but for the sake of full disclosure. Too dark to tell anything, but thought I would give a shot without the flash so glare would not cover anything. Last but not least, the case. A few cosmetic scratches, you can see in close-ups if you click on them. Really in very nice condition. The inside's great, all of the latches work, it shows that it was a non-gigging guitar. Anyway, that's all I took. Should anybody need more or want further explanations, please let me know. Otherwise, thanks for looking. As an aside, I told my wife I was going to miss the guitar once it was gone. She just sighed, rolled her eyes a bit, then left the room. Oh well. -Cheers
