killertone Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 1998 (no fx loop) Marshall 1987X 50 watt Plexi Reissue . The amp is in good shape with a few minor tolex rips. It has the post phase inverter master volume mod done to it which when turned all the way up is bypassed. The master was added at the presence knob so the amp looks completely stock. No holes were added or drilled in any way. The amp sounds great, works flawlessly, and won't kill your ears! I have pics so just email me at jcm2205@yahoo.com and I will send them to you. First $750 plus shipping takes it.
Scottcrud Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 This is a kickass amp, and Killertone is a straight shooter when it comes to gear.
kurtsstuff Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 So...The amp no longer has a "presence" control??..I'm kinda interested but I'm real leary of modded amps
MCChris Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 So...The amp no longer has a "presence" control??..I'm kinda interested but I'm real leary of modded amps Like a Plexi NEEDS a presence control. Nice price on that.

Nice price on that. This is a basic everyday mod that can easily be reversed by a tech. The presence value has been fixed to about 1 o'clock where the knob would be. Like Chris said, the presence control isn't really all that necessary on a Plexi, that is why it was chosen to be the slot for the master. Keep in mind that when the master is cranked all the way, the master is out of the circuit so you can achieve the exact tone that a plexi offers. And, the price is kickass!
Scottcrud Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Again people, this amp sounds great and Killertone is good friend of mine.
