currypowder Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 I have a set of WCR Crossroads that I believe are a 4 wire Moore/Green set with aged nickle covers. When I wired them into my guitar per WCR instructions, the middle position was definitely an out of phase tone. When I e-mailed Jim Wagner, he said that I could swap the red & green wire on one pickup and it would bring it back in phase. Anyway, sold the guitar they were installed in and really don't have any use for them anymore. The DC resistance is: Bridge - 7.74 Neck - 7.44 $225 Shipped - ON HOLD
edgar_allan_poe Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 A little confused...are they splittable or does the 4 way just make them go out of phase. Sorry if this is a stupid question but I am looking to replace some pups in a guitar that was a complicated switching system.
currypowder Posted October 25, 2009 Author Posted October 25, 2009 The 4 wire allows the coils to be split. As I installed them, 2 of the wires were connected and taped down and two plus the ground was used to wire to the electronics. I believe that you use the 2 taped down wires to split the coils. The out of phase sound in the middle comes from a flipped magnet, not the 4 wires. Here's the installation/wiring options, mine are the 4x plus ground that is pictured on the far right.http://www.wcrguitar.com/Install.html
