atquinn Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 ...Question to the Cali owners: do the neck sizes vary quite a bit?...I've had a few Calis and they were all over the place, thick to thin. All the Diablos I've had have had shredder thin necks though. So, if you're looking for another thick-necked one, there should be one out there somewhere.Nice gear, and welcome!-Austin
cspot Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 "Damn, looks pretty sweet!! What happened to the rest of your frets though?? What is the neck like on yours....thick or thin? " The necks a bit chunkier than my early charvels, but still feels comfy! pretty much bare wood on the back now too! as for the frets, they where gone when I bought the guitar (used) Dont know if the binding was an afterthought and maybe they got "removed" then. if you want to see some nice calis though look up lady scary on this site...very jealous...
Devin Posted November 19, 2009 Author Posted November 19, 2009 if you want to see some nice calis though look up lady scary on this site...very jealous... Oh yeah, I could never forget LadyScary. She was on harmony-central a bit and I asked her to adopt me
Devin Posted December 1, 2009 Author Posted December 1, 2009 Looks Nice and broken in. Sweet! Welcome. Thanks bud! I'm actually thinking about moving back to passive pickups in the Cali lol. I love the EMG's for rhythm tones but for leads they are starting to get on my nerves a bit....they just don't "feel" right. I'm thinking I'll drop my trusty Dimarzio Chopper back in the neck slot and order up a BG Hellabucker <3
GaryT Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 I had a Chopper in a Mirage I use to own. Good sounding pup. BG Hellbucker? Thats the dude from the Sierra Nevadas that winds his own pups?

Thats the dude from the Sierra Nevadas that winds his own pups? Yep, great guy and extremely reasonable prices for custom winds. I have a pair of his custom blade single coils in my Starfield Cabriolet
