gorch Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 I have seen them both this morning, but missed to create a thread immediately. In the meantime the seller of the Monaco III replied to my mail of questions. Here's the essence:------------There are 2 volume controls and a tone controlthe tone control is a pull control. When you pull it activates the middle pickup. One volume control is for the bridge pickup and the other for the neck pickup. The 3 way switch is forposition 1: bridge pickupposition 2: neck and bridge pickupposition 3: neck pickup. If you pull the tone control thenposition 1: bridge + middleposition 2: bridge + middle + neckposition 3: neck + middlethe tone control controls the tone for whatever pickups are on.------------
GaryT Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 The first Monaco III on thier hasn't moved at all at $1700. I thought I wanted a Black III till Dave showed me his old one. Now I'd have to go with Red or order a maple top? I'd have to have the Bigsby on it. But it probly sounds very good with the trap tail. There's a KILLER T-51F with 3-pups in the For Sale area. Only thing I thought was suspect is the extra hole under the Sperzel TM on the low E string. Nice Tele though.
