I have seen them both this morning, but missed to create a thread immediately.

In the meantime the seller of the Monaco III replied to my mail of questions. Here's the essence:

There are 2 volume controls and a tone control

the tone control is a pull control. When you pull it activates the middle pickup.

One volume control is for the bridge pickup and the other for the neck pickup.

The 3 way switch is for

position 1: bridge pickup

position 2: neck and bridge pickup

position 3: neck pickup.

If you pull the tone control then

position 1: bridge + middle

position 2: bridge + middle + neck

position 3: neck + middle

the tone control controls the tone for whatever pickups are on.

The first Monaco III on thier hasn't moved at all at $1700.

I thought I wanted a Black III till Dave showed me his old one. Now I'd have to go with Red or order a maple top? I'd have to have the Bigsby on it. But it probly sounds very good with the trap tail.

There's a KILLER T-51F with 3-pups in the For Sale area. Only thing I thought was suspect is the extra hole under the Sperzel TM on the low E string. Nice Tele though.
