teleman Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 I put a Kendrick blackframe into my '65 Deluxe reverb and have been very pleased with the results. I broke it in by running my Allesis drum machine through itduring the day while I was working. I did this for 3 days and the speaker broke in nicely. The Reverend Alltone 12 is also a great match for a DR.
hardheartedbill Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 I am in love w/ my Kendricks blk frames, got em in a Bogner 410 openback cab, the best cab/speaker combo ever for my style, speakers broken in courtesy of Scott Henderson on a European tour, if you can find em grab em!
shankyboy Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 I put a Jensen P-12 (the green one with the bell cover on the back) in my '72 Deluxe and Man what a difference. That amp is now my main gig amp. You won't regret it.
mirageman Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 Celestion Vintage 30 is a very "warm" sounding speaker and they do handle up to 60 watts r.m.s.
straightblues Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 I love Weber speakers. But they definately take some breakin time. Give Ted a CALL and tell him about your problem. He will help you find the right speaker for your music. I think they allow exchanges. Ted is a nice person and wants to make all of his customers happy. Ted's son is also very helpful and knows his stuff. I have 9 Weber speakers and love them all. The right speaker for the vintage blues I play is the Alnico 15A150-O with a smooth cone. In fact I have one in my 1964 Fender Deluxe that I built a custom cabinet for. It sounds awesome. I get between a black face and tweed tone that is just perfect for me. Below is a picture of the green monster.
