Fret edge binding on Sunbursts?

hey just thought i'd ask an unrelated question to the floyd Q.

This 91' sunburst has a bound neck. And the frets are setting over the binding. So no fret edge binding.

The owner says it looks original as does the rest of the guitar. BUT i have not seen any in the sunburst appreciation thread that have a bound neck and no edges..

So, as a newbie to Hamer love, was wondering of this occurred, or if it has indeed had a refret.

He says the frets are like new, hes had it for several years, so its possible, alltho the condition is pretty well unplayed for the most.

Good score either way, just curious if there is some with, some without.

I've posted under your 'floyd' post- but on the fret binding part.....my '91 HAS neck and fret binding.....all blends nicely together over the fret ends- so maybe is a re-fret!? Maybe someone else has some better info though...

Oh- check my other post......I'd love to buy that '91 from you- refret or not.....

Dave i would love to help you out man! But im new to the Hamer world and have maybe jumped in with both feet here, but the first one was such a great player, i gotta see whats around the corner!

This thing lands to me next week, deals done with the trade.

Im in Australia mate, i fear ships to the UK would be pretty exy, and the 1100 US dollars is good money in the States, but ive given the guy a trade on a 2700 dollar guitar for 2 guitars i could have got from the states for less, just one of those things, its gonna owe me more than 1100.

BUT, if i cant live with the trem.. maybe we can trade? depending on shipping costs. trade would work for me. Whats yours look like?
