Proper Pots ? Double Dees in Newport Pro BE

I'm thinking of rolling the dice and putting some newly aquired Double Dees (taladega singles) into my Newport Pro BirdsEye-- which currently has humbuckers. Should I also change v pots to get the best results? and to what? I also assume that they should fit without complication? Any advise would be appreciated. thanks scott

The DoubleDs are P90 style pickups that should go with 500k pots too. So, there should be no need to change anything on the wiring.

You might want to adjust on the capacitor value for the tone pot. The cap value defines the frequency at which it begins to cut the heights. Depending on the characteristic of the Double Ds you might want to change the cap.

In case you are not happy with the tone pot behaviour after the replacement, PM me and I check the cap value in my Tally for you.

Thanks, we're in prosess of puting them in, gonna try existing wiring , my tecs gonna see what cap is in there for future reference. I have a tally e.m. so i could check to see what caps in there. I emailed hamer about values but they are non-responsive. thanks again for your input. s

Double dee's transplant has been completed, and played many times (to avoid honeymoon-lovefest/-i-can't believe i'm such a dumbass/-syndrone ).---- 120% pleased, wonderful match to the instrument . Mid position, A+, rhythm pickup-- A- , bridge is surprisingly on the go to list - A+.--- I play with thy fingers, and LOVE the dynamics. Tech ( without any prompts ) glowed about the quality wire job he found existing.
