gtone Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Just rec'd a quad of RCA 6V6GT's where it looks like a guide has been sheared off of one in shipping. Can this be reglued onto the base and used or has the vacuum been compromised as a result?
Brewmaster Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 When the vacuum has been compromised the tube usually turns white. When I was doing repairs I had quite a few folks come in with broken guide pins and super glued them back on and the tube worked fine. ( amazing how many people don't know how to remove or replace tubes) Just make sure you line it up properly before gluing.
LostArt Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 if you follow the pin input you don't even need to glue it back on
gtone Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 Thanks guys - much obliged to you both!
