Disturber Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 How does this pedal sound? I've heard good and bad opinions about it? And how does the Bluesbreaker pedal compare to the Fulltone OCD? I have two original Guv´nors and really only need one, so I thought about swapping one of them for an original Bluesbreaker. Thanks for your advice, as always!
hardheartedbill Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 you'll hear good and bad about any OD/distortion, it's such a personal taste and playing style thing that it's hard to know until you try em. The first series Marshall pedals are highly sought after so you'll be able to get your money out if ya don't like it
Turdus Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I owned one of these a few years back. It is a fairly low gain pedal. I had a 1987x head with a MV installed in it. Without the MV, the head is very loud. If you crank up the volume, and limit the MV, you can get some dirt, but the head will not approach high gain. When plugging into a clean amp, the BB pedal came very close to sounding like the 1987 head with the MV. But, since I was able to get the sound from the amp, I really had no need for the pedal, and sold it.
Lockbody Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I love mine for that extra "push" for solos with my Boogie.I like it less for distorting a clean sound.
