hikarateboy Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Look at you! Hey will the next Matt Smith please stand up.Congratulations, I have been having a great time with the mando I bought from el duave last spring. It small and never gets in the way when sitting around the house so it's picked up and played often. top it off with the fact that a mando just sounds so cool. Enjoy it!in hind sight I suggest you dont listen to Matt's mando playing as you may never want to pick one up again
JohnnyB Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Dude! That's a score! The one down at my local guitar shop is sale-tagged at $600 or so, and it's the exact same one -- mahogany body with pickup. If I remember right, you were wanting a mando with a wider fretboard. This'll do the trick. And it has a nice, big sound. Enjoy. Now I'm a little jealous. BTW, as an accomplished jazzer, how do you feel about the Newport now after a couple of years with it?
FunkyE9th Posted September 8, 2005 Author Posted September 8, 2005 BTW, as an accomplished jazzer, how do you feel about the Newport now after a couple of years with it? What gave you the idea that I'm an accomplished jazzer? I wish I can play jazz. I'm more of a wanna be jazzer. Anyway, I love the Newport. It's my number 1. Newport into my Reverend is an excellent combo!!! Actually, Newport into anything sounds good, and anything into the Reverend sounds good. I can't wait to get the Mandolin. At 1st, I was set on getting the traditional f-style mando. But after looking at the Tacoma, I ended up really liking the unique style. -FunkyE9th
FunkyE9th Posted September 15, 2005 Author Posted September 15, 2005 Received the Mandolin last night. I am definitely liking the wider neck. I learned 4 chords last night D, G, C and A. -FunkyE9th
