Roli Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 I´ve got a special guitar in my collection: Hamer "Mony" serial no 820460 The story behind this instrument (so I was told) : Steve Stevens wanted for the shoot of the "Mony Mony" video a new guitar and hamer built 3 equal guitars. The one from the video now is hanging in a Hard Rock Cafe in Mexico, one is at my home and the 3rd probably is somewhere in Germany?! Now I´ve got a question regarding the neck: This is the only Hamer USA guitar I´ve ever seen (and I saw a few) that has the truss rod adjustment at the end of the neck (at the body side). Anyone got informations about other guitars with this kind of necks? (sorry for my weird English, but I´m Austrian). Roli
JJ Paul Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 Hi Roli... making waves as usual, heh? Serial Steve would be the right guy to ask... He knows all the Secrets behind these one-off productions. Take care! Paul
Jeff R Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 All I know is if I could custom order ANY Hamer guitar, it'd be that with a strat-positioned three-way blade and the hottest wind single available for the neck. In WWII fighter plane graphics similar to my '88 Jackson Dinky. And the truss rod nut on the "proper" end. LOL! Seriously, no kidding, why did they do that? There is nothing more pain in the ass guitar setup wise than unbolt, adjust rod, rebolt, retune, check relief, unbolt, adjust rod, rebolt, retune, check relief...especially on a guitar with a Floyd.
Roli Posted September 11, 2005 Author Posted September 11, 2005 But because it is difficult to adjust and also unusual for Hamerwhy did they make such a neck for this guitar?Roli
