Victor (Fret Friend) Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 I sent the seller all the info I have on this but what model is it? LINK
Victor (Fret Friend) Posted May 20, 2011 Author Posted May 20, 2011 I suggested it's likely built between 92-96 at either the Cort or Samick factory (due to SLAMMER SERIES beneath the large HAMER logo).
Victor (Fret Friend) Posted May 21, 2011 Author Posted May 21, 2011 Anyone know what US model this is based on? I know I'm ignorant as I only buy FR'd guitars. Someone must know. Is it a Special?http://i.ebayimg.com/00/$(KGrHqUOKkEE...o!~~_12.JPG
psc3251 Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 Hey Vic, Yeh, noticed that one- it's not a flat top, so it's not based on a USA Special- as it's arched it'll be a Korean version of the Studio - the one with the dots. You thinking of going for it- at £199 BIN it's tempting! Cheers, Dave
Bass Guy Dave Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 That's an early Slammer series Sunburst Artchtop. They were usually back with white binding in the States. We sold a couple at the store I was working at at the time. Nice guitar for the money.
Victor (Fret Friend) Posted May 21, 2011 Author Posted May 21, 2011 Thanks for the info guys I am actually tempted but I prefer Floyded guitars so don't think I'll bid. I know it'll be good though...
bisonkills Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 I have one just like this but in black, nice guitar. Was my first proper guitar, still have it 16 years later!Nice to see some more UK Hamer lovers BTW!! I'm based in York, UK.

Been a Hamer nut since 84 when they appeared in a local music shop around the time I was learning to play. The shop let me (a young punk) play their guitars as I couldn't afford one. I'm from Nottingham btw (and a Leeds United fan)...
bisonkills Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Nice one mate. My tale is similar, was an aspiring metal head, and scraped the cash for the Slammer, which was my pride and joy for years. It served me well (and still does).
psc3251 Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Hey Bisonkills, Mmm- familiar stories that......but I could never have dreamed of a Hamer when I was starting out- I settled for a Tokai with a Kahler! I fell in love with a Hamer Sunburst in Sound Control in Glasgow back in 92- went back 2 weeks late with the cash-but it was gone. Had at least a dozen Les Pauls but finally bought my first Hamer about 2and a half years ago.....sold all my LP's and bought Hamers! Vic- I know what you mean- all of my Hamers have floyds too- think I'd find it hard going back to a hardtail - even my PRS CU24's got a floyd in it!!!! Cheers Dave
