Hamer Californian Elite - Single coil options

Question

Hello guys,

As a new Californian Elite owner I am keen to get the opinion on good alternative options for the single coil. The one I have is too low output for my liking, and a dramatic reduction in volume when switching from the hunbucker (bare knuckle VH2).

I am looking for something of a high output as I play mainly Rock music but tone is also important. I was considering the Seymour Duncan Hot Rails.

Are there better alternatives or ones that you guys have had success with?

Regards

David

On the one's i make for Kevin Dillard he favours Dimarzio's 'Chopper' and i must admit that for a mini humbucker it does produce some really nice single coil tones whilst remaining full. On the one i'm just about to send out to him i've used a Dimarzio 5 way superswitch and it really is very impressive especially with a AT-100 in the bridge.

Just as a note the original standards came with an SSL-1 and the Elite's with a mini PATB.

You've persuaded me. Do they have noticeably more output than the original single coil?
