Bluesking Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 Here's one for those of you who want to be noticed at the gig: Up for grabs is 1999 Jackson USA JJ-1 flame top (literally) single pickup version- I've never seen another like it. I owned this very guitar a while back and traded it - which I've regretted ever since. It came back up on Ebay recently, and I couldn't believe it was my old guitar, so I happily pulled the trigger. Unfortunately, I bought a house and I've got unexpected expenses to cover, so it's for sale again. When I owned the JJ before, I had a hell of a time IDing it for insurance purposes. I contacted the Jackson custom shop, Fender, and several large dealers around the country to ID this guitar, and all I got were a few best guesses. Mostly I heard "You've got what again?" They all had info on the JJ-1 with dual HBs, but only one person, a former employee of the Jackson Custom Shop, could give me any info on the single HB version. Here's what he told me: "We made a handful of these with the single HB and the custom flame finish. One was used at NAMM and the another was a one-off custom order. I think they were made of Korina, but I can't be positive." I can't verify 100% that it's Korina, but the local luthiers here in Tucson seem to think it is. All I know is that it's light and it kicks ass. I originally thought it was a prototype Scott Ian Signature JJ, but this instrument doesn't have his signature or charactature on the headstock and Jackson says they didn't make any single HB prototypes for Ian. There you have it - rare as hell and Custom Shop quality to boot. This guitar is all original except for the pickup - it has a Duncan zebra JB in it when I last owned it. FEATURES: 1. Custom flame finish 2. Duncan Invader HB 3. New hardshell case 4. Excellent condition - no dings or dents. Only a few very superficial pick scratches that are extremely hard to see. 5. Bolt on neck (4 bolts) that plays like a set neck. 6. Custom dice inlays at 12th fret My price is $649 shipped to the lower 48. Payment by USPS Money Order or Paypal (you pay the fees and I accept credit cards). Shipment by DHL or FedEx Ground. I've got refs here and Ebay (Bluesking89).
