Best brand of glue for a neck repair????

Thundernotes

Question

Posted

I have an acoustic guitar I got for free that needs fixing. It had fallen over and broke quite cleanly along the scarf joint. The fretboard did not break, so I just need to squirt some glue up in there and clamp it back down, I assume. With a little sanding I should be able to make a serviceable knoock-around guitar for the office or something. Just wondering what kind of glue I should use.

Thanks!

regular titebond (red label?)

try to split it open a lil more to work the glue in

use a used peice of string, .013, .017 ish

to work some glue down into the end of the split.

let the glue set up for a lil while, while you

get your pre made radius clamp jigs ready....

use some wax paper cut outs between the

neck and clamping devices, etc. so

the excess drippings of glue will not stick to anything else,

use some tape as well.

clamp it up, snug, let it sit a lil bit, wipe off excess,

then clamp it up a lil more, wipe excess,

then a lil more...

then a lil more...

then a lil more...

:)
