Flush-mount Jacks

My Slammer Series Sunburst has a flush-mount output jack, which is getting kinda wonky. I assume this is a replacement for it:

Stewmac's version doesn't get very good reviews; people say it doesn't last very long. Are there any better-quality versions available elsewhere that will last longer, but still fit Hamer's 1/2" hole?

As a hardcore Tele guy, I think the Electrosocket jack cup with a Switchcraft jack is about the best mounting system out there, better than this thing, better than a Les Paul's surface-mount plate. However, I foresee failure and misery would result from any attmept to enlarge the 1/2" hole to the 7/8" an Electrosocket requires. The only sure-fire way to do it would be to plug the hole first, then re-drill it with a 7/8" bit. Way to much trouble for a cheap guitar.

Unless some one has a higher-quality alternative, I guess I'll just use Stewmac's jack and buy a spare.

For side mount ,Yup.

unless it is the cool factored hidden strat side mount input jack assembly ;)

That's because it isn't Switchcraft.

That one is made in Japan, and it's a Tip Ring Sleeve design.

The correct original part is a Switchcraft Model 151 thick panel mount jack.

You want this one:

It's like a Hamer, but it's for guys with four kids to put through college.
