diablo175 Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Yours, zorrow? I have to admit, initial reaction was positive. Upon closer inspection/reflection; not crazy about the head stock shape and the body looks proportionally small to me. Oh, and get rid of that blade 3 way switch and put a toggle in there But I dig the color and the features. 24 frets? Floyd Rose? Reversed headstock, Black hardware? Winner, winner, chicken dinner!
diablo175 Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Ah hah! After digging around a little re: Jacky Vincent, his band Falling In Reverse and his sig ax, I discovered I wasn't imagining things- he intentionally shrunk the body down by a 1/4 all around to accommodate his smaller body frame, or as he put it: "Because I'm a short ass..." On a side note, he used to be a Jackson player- a number of pics and vids of him shredding on a bright green Soloist that I'd have killed for (until I remember the volume knob placement SUCKS!) are out there.
zorrow Posted December 27, 2013 Author Posted December 27, 2013 No, not mine. In fact, that's not my thing at all. I was just reading about the new Dean models and thought this was so *you* that I had to share it here. I do like the headstock though.
zorrow Posted December 27, 2013 Author Posted December 27, 2013 BTW, I guess you can still custom-order a Dean shredder like that one, but just with a normal-sized body.
diablo175 Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 As discussed previously in another thread, I'm not super keen on acquiring some one else's sig model ax. If I went that route I'd have to ditch the sig features- the inlays for starters.
zorrow Posted December 27, 2013 Author Posted December 27, 2013 I understand you, as I also hate wearing someone else's clothes. But a custom Dean shredder inspired by that one, just with different inlays and a slightly bigger body would no longer be someone else's gear, right?
