Identify my Hamer Diablo?

Edit: Looks like it's the Hamer Diablo Deluxe, DABDLX model. I can't find any pricing info though.

Just picked this Hamer up. Thought it looked cool with the hockey stick fret marks and the neck felt good. The seller didn't know what it was other than "Hamer Green Guitar." Looks like a Diablo to me, but I checked the serial# guides and can't make out what this one means. You can also tell in the picture why I can't tell where it was made

That is an import Diablo. Not sure where it was made.

Korean Import! I'd say it's a Diablo Deluxe (if they ever existed) as my import Korean Cali Deluxe (c 2000) had Boomerang inlays. If this is such a model, it was probably made around 2000/2002. This is all guess work but I've had a few Korean Hamers over the years...

Cool, thanks for the info, guys. Yeah, I can't seen to find any that look quite like this one online. Green , flat body surface (no 45 degree cutaways), and boomerang fret marks. I like Korean made Ibanez guitars.

Here is my 2000 Korean California Deluxe (c 2000-2002). These pickups were a later addition by myself. As far as I know, all Deluxe version imports had Boomer inlays...

1703566... From what I've found out over the years, the Korean serial numbers don't really mean anything. What I can tell you is that Hamer had their earlier imports built at the Cort factory in Korea (a very good builder for many top brand guitar companies). I'm not sure where the later imports were built but they were deffo built in Korea and I see no reason why Hamer would chosse another manufacturer...

Although it's a little banged up, and where it was made was either accidentally or purposefully rubbed off or scratched off, it's a great guitar, so I have no regrets buying it for $130 at the local music go round.

That's a great price! I think I paid $250 for my Cali Deluxe but I had to pay another $150 for shipping with import tax. I think it sold for just shy of $350 after a pickup/Floyd upgrade. I really regret selling it now tbh. It was a much better guitar than an import can sometimes imply & it REALLY looked the part (it was also a fantastic player)...

Unfortunately I just tried tuning it, and the fine tuner on the high E is broken; will not turn. It also has some significant dings and damage. I'll probably return it in the morning.

For $130 mate, I'd consider replacing the fine tuner. Else, take it back to the shop & barter for a part refund then put the money to a Floyd Rose Special tremolo system (a Korean made version of a real Floyd Rose but with a few nickel parts instead of steel). I used to import/sell Korean made FR Specials & they are a great tremolo (much better than a licensed one) + they carry a Floyd Rose OFFICIAL logo. You should get a complete tremolo system for around $75 on ebay. I always used to replace my licensed Floyds with FR Specials (for cheap models). I'd replace better guitars with Gotohs but in your case, a Special will be a brilliant purchase.

On a guitar so cheap, IMO, it would be wise to spend a few $s more to 'get it right'...

If you need any help/advice, buzz me. I know a fair bit about Floyds (30 years a Floyd player)...
