Slammer Series tuners fix or replace

Drastion

I got a slammer series special from guitarcenter a few weeks ago. I like the little bugger I noticed the tuners felt a little strange. I just figured it was how they were different. Now today I gave a closer look when it kept actin weird. Now I realize I have a problem. Not sure if the previous owner tightened down the button screws to much but two of them have broken parts. Not sure what they are called but the little white plastic spacer rings are cracked. So now the springs inside the tuner are pushing the shaft out the back end of the tuner.

I mean maybe I could replace the rings but don't know were to look as I have no idea what they would be called.

That or maybe pull them out and tighten down the screw so it pulls the shaft back in. As of right now I cannot get it into to as it feels like the gears are jamming if I try to tune it up too far.

Are hamer branded tuners a drop in replacement? There are no screws in the back so I assume its held in by a post hole.

Really bumed as now I can't even play it unless I over torque the screw like to was when I got it.

well, it is a slammer series.

asian guitars are going to cut corners in oem parts to cap on profit.

Best to find a nice set of new, or used tuners of better quality

than the oem. no shame in upgrading.

Did some digging around and these are the closest things I could find. They say they are for basses on the top right of the page.

http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/bass_tunerparts.htm

Would these work or should I just tighten them down or replace the tuners?

Edit:

I found what I would need

http://www.allparts.com/TK-7716-025-Plastic-Guitar-Tuner-Washers_p_3917.html

But considering shipping unless I can find something more I would need it may just make more sense like murkat said to replace the tuners.

Does anyone know if shaller hamer branded tuners are drop in replacements?
