Pieman Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 I need to buy some speakers just to listen to "Sticky Fingers," "Beck-ola, " Savoy Brown, etc. I recall a thread on this subject 2-3 years ago and people were recommending speakers for $100 a Pair, IIR C.Any thoughts? Occasional use. Don't need high-end stuff.thanks
Guest gearwhore Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 klipsch...something old like kg3...I Paid $75 for my last set...or I paid $150 for my kg4...worth every penny.
JohnnyB Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Pioneer speakers designed by Andrew Jones, designer of the $80,000 TAD Reference One. Bookshelf, $126.99/pair, or Floorstanding (w/3 woofers), $253.98/pair, or the previous discontinued Floorstanding model at $179.9/pair. These set a new standard in price/performance for quality entry-level speakers. If you don't mind getting factory-refreshed items to save 2/3 off list, there's the Boston Acoustics A250 floorstander for $239.98/pair instead of retail $600/pair.
