Help With Measuring PIckup Output

Question

I bought a used Lollar P90 looking for some Lollar " magic" in my Artist Korina. Before I start mucking with the electronics, thought I would measure the pup to make sure it works.

So, really don't know how to use a MM but am expecting 8k on the meter. Not getting that, so I tried a measurement I've made before on my amp and the meter is in the correct range.

Could it be the battery in the meter? I am setting the meter for resistance with ground on the braid and hot on the core. What setting on the meter 200, 2k ,20k? I have no reason to believe that the pickup would not be working as advertised, but don't want to go mucking up the beautiful control cavity for no reason.

thanks in advance

Pickup resistance varies with temperature; alot actually. Let them acclimate to room temp and see if they are closer. You should be using the 20k range on the DMM, unless it has an autorange feature.

Not getting any consistent results looks like I'll just install the thing and hope for the best
