Replacement tuners for 80s prototype and how is a sustain block grounded?

Was hoping to find out what tuners would be drop in replacements. The originals are gone and the new ones were not exactly upgrades.

Also a copper wire was led through the pickup cavity sadly cracking the pickup ring. Obviously something the previous owner did I just cannot figure out how the factory grounded if it ever did.

One last question. Where would I get a replacement nut at? 14" radius but it has a rather narrow neck so will I need to cut my own nut something I have never done.

The tuners were Schaller M6 3+3.

The groundwire goes through a smal hole between the front wall of the pickup cavity and the base of the bridge and into the middle screw hole. Remove the bridge and you should see the track in the paint where it should be.

Make your own nut (or pay to have one done) from bone as they are pretty variable.

Message me and I'll see if I have a set of tuners I can let go cheap. What year Prototype?

Would I just feed a non solid wire in there and have the threads of the screw make the connection?

PM´d The year I am not sure it was stripped which is a bit of a bonus as I dont have to worry about the nitro. I work with a lot of hydraulic fluid and would hate to see what that might do to a finish if I had some on my clothes.

More or less, yes. Bare copper wire usually.
