SSII x 2

Just got a Squier Bass vi. Anyone here have setup advice? I undersand

these 3 models all share the same bridge. What size allen wrench is

needed to raise the bridge height? Seems REALLY small?

The problem I've noticed with a lot of the BASS VI reissues (not the Custom Shop ones), are that they use the regular Jaguar/Jazzmaster/Mustang type bridge. It's not wide enough for the E (and sometimes A) saddle to travel back far enough, and it can get a bit floppy or not intonate right.

There are a number of replacement bridges out there that will fit in the thimbles, but were made with wider bases and longer screws.

Visit the Offset Guitar Forum - lots of knowledgeable and friendly people over there, and some of them make and sell these replacement bridges as well.

Yah, I've seen much mention of the lousy bridges on these. Funny thing,

mine intonates just fine with lots of travel left. Only problem is the low E--

another frequent complaint--buzzzes. I think the action's a bit low, but I

can't figure out how to raise it! Anyway, I'll head over to the offset forum!

Tell ya what, for under 300 bucks it's a way cool instrument, given a few

aggravations...
