dewey finn Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 I just got a Hamer Checkerboard Special. The seller said it was an 81. The serial number is so faded I can barely see it. How else can I determine what year it is?
cynic Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Early 80s is the right ballpark for the checkerboard logo. You could check the pot codes (if original) and get a "no-later-than" date. You might also try taking a high-res photo and blowing it up on the computer. Lots of times things not seen by the naked eye become clearly visible in a photo.
