Pieman Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 I have been looking at some Reverends that come with a Bigsby or a Wilkenson trem. Any pluses or minuses with each to consider? Thanks
RobB Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 According to the WD website, the WVS50 is the "budget" (Chinese) version of the VSV100G. I've played a few guitars with the 100G and it is very similar to a G&L trem or a FR in its feel. The Bigsby is more of a vibrato than a tremolo. They are more stable when bending, but have their own built-in idiosyncrasies. You can't divebomb, etc. with them but they are good for gentle vibratoing. When lubed and used with a properly set-up bridge/nut, they work fine. I don't care for the string-anchoring system and always replace the "pin-bar" with a Callaham string bar and front roller bar.
