I have a great Empress Tremolo (first series) and I use it via the fx loop of my Koch Twintone, together with a delay, a reverb and a phaser, according to the old rule that modulation effects go in the loop, distortion and the rest in the front (I got a screamer, boost etc there).
The Tremolo has a gain control to avoid a certain signal loss which seems to be common with tremolos (at least thats what the manual says). Funny thing (and the question): The gain does not influence the volume in the first place, but the amount of effects from the OTHER pedals in the loop. With other words: By turning the tremolos gain up I can double the reverb/phaser/delay effect... Any clue?
Oh, yes, I tried to change the pedals order in the chain - no effect...
ETA: Case closed. Looks like it was an serial/paralell loop issue. Changed the loop, problem solved. Helped me to size down my effect board, too, btw. Sorry for bothering and thanx foor looking.
