New guy here. Well actually was a member about a decade ago, but had to re-sign-up.
Old guy in general, getting ready to move and downsize and, as such, looking to part with guitars I've had for many years, among them a 1981 Hamer Special. Want to make sure I'm describing it accurately when I post for sale somewhere.
Here's my specific question: My understanding is that Specials from this era came with cream and zebra DiMarzio pickups. The pickups in this guitar (which I didn't buy new) are all black and marked on the back with "Hame-USA Guitars" (see pics below). Are these pickups original to this guitar, or is it likely that different/later Hamer pickups were installed.
I changed out the knobs and switch tip to fit my preferences so I know that those aren't original. Maybe the pickup rings too.
