I currently have the AC30 version of Victory's in-line preamps and have no need for this one, although I wish I did. It is terriffic. From a strictly preamp basis, this is a floor mounted Plexi with two channels and two independent master volumes. I used it with my THD Type O and it nails the Plexi tone. Nails it. So it can be used with a power amp as is. That's how I use the AC30 version. This unit, however, is really intended to be used in the effects loop of any amp. When wired in its four cable configuration, it essentially adds two Plexi channels to whatever amp you're using, while still allowing you to use your amps existing channels. So it turns a one channel amp into three, two channels into four, etc. The first channel is more evenly voiced, the second has a more prominent upper midrange. Both channels want to rock - it doesn't do clean well, it goes from crunch to heavy drive. It is in very good condition, priced to move at $350.
