Random question… since the head has a dedicated clean channel can the head be used as a clean amp without a module plugged in…?
santellavision Posted February 5, 2022 Author Posted February 5, 2022 Yes, the clean channel is really nice. But, running it without a module kinda' defeats the purpose of a swapable modular amp. The 3-button foot-switch lets you choose Clean Channel, Module Side A, Module Side B. The module design is cool as the amp can be a Marshall one minute, A Vox, A Soldano, Friedman etc. the next... as your mood changes. I'm pretty much loving the entire system. I have the 2-space SYN2 rack in the my studio with a half-dozen different modules. So much fun!

For example: buy the amp, still be able to use it while deciding which modules to buy and waiting for them to ship… 🤔 The Synergy system has really intrigued me for a while. Several of their modules sound really good in the clips I’ve heard. And I don’t know if I would prefer a Syn1/2 to run thru one of my current amps or the head like you’ve got here.

Travis, I'm sold on the concept. I was into the Egnater Mod series amps about 10 years ago. Same thing, heads and rack units with slots for modules (In fact, you can interchange modules from that into the synergy and vis-versa. Bruce Egnater helped design the Synergy stuff. Plus, there are a bunch of really cool modules made by after-market guys like Jaded Faith, Salvation Audio etc. that are highly sought-after.
