Saul Goodman Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 I bought this guitar for the neck. A new Music Kraft, USA CG or MJT neck with these specs would be way over $400 and even then, you would have to do fret work. The reviews were so ridiculously awesome that they were suspect. But, at $350 from Amazon Prime with free returns, I had to find out. I wasn't interested in the guitar body and appointments so I searched their website and then Amazon for the neck I wanted that was attached to a guitar body. I wanted 25.5" scale, a nice, beefy neck with a compound radius. This one came up and I can say that this neck feels like my multi-thousand dollar necks from Melancon (RIP). It needed tuning out of the box but from there it gets interesting. I do my own setups so if you don't then this information won't mean anything to you. But I try, emphasize on try, to get my string action at 3/64th at the 12th fret. This is difficult to do on most 25.5" F style necks unless it's very flat, like a Daytona. This came right out of the box at 3/64 on the 6th string and a little lower on the first. The neck is incredibly flat with no relief. The intonation was remarkably SPOT ON!!! You can read about their fretwork and how they dress the fret ends. This neck feels like a Melancon neck. It's a big C/D neck. Very comfortable. The body and finish is perfect though I'm going to set it in a corner somewhere because I have a purpose for the neck. I did plug it in and strummed did a minimal check of the pickups, pots just for conversation. They don't suck and I have plenty of pickups laying around to swap if I get to that point. The jack is a bit cheap but not scratchy. Totally usable but the plug pops out about a 1/16 of an inch when you plug it in. Nothing a Switchcraft cant fix. The nut is really rough and they claim it's bone. I don't know why they spent so much time on the neck dressing and ignored the nut but it's an easy fix. I'll pop it out and file the bottom to lower the action on the first few frets and I'll file the rough edges and make it Huber-like. I'll probably roll the edges of the fretboard a bit though it feels like they already have done that. Here's the link: Shit, damn thin went down to $319 Even better. ETA: I may buy another at that price! Please note, NO Affiliation. Never heard of this brand before a few days ago. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B1299DJH?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1
