  1. You seem to be implying that internet message boards are what kept Hamer afloat for the past 10 years or so. I contend that such an implication is simply asinine and gives WAY too much credit to the HFC and places like it. Hamer's own marketing/advertising efforts and the work of their dealers DWARF what we do here in terms of exposing the brand to the public. You seem to be implying that I only specified the HFC. Perhaps I sould be more specific when I say that. I meant that word of mouth, or message board, or other less formal forms of communication have kept Hamer alive in the post shread years. Truth be told is that, I would not have even considered Hamer until a trusted friend let me try his guitar and noticed the quality. The work of their dealers? I'd almost laugh at that one as the dealers in my area had Hamer as a well kept secret and pushed people towards the mexi strats and Epi's. I understand your point, but I believe that Hamer's marketing up until about 03 was quite lax.
  2. There's a message being sent all right. I don't like it as it's places like the HFC that passed the Hamer name out and kept loyal while they were overshadowed by PRS, Gibson, etc. They want to be that way, fine, but they won't be getting my cash unless they straighten out.
  3. The original poster has great taste.
  4. Hot rodded Vintage s or Cali?
  5. HOLY SH*T!!!!! A CU42!! How the hell do you play that thing? Can you get your fingers on those tiny frets? I played a Virt with 36 frets...but 42??!! I'll bet that kicks ass.... oops. Fixed.
  6. I have 1 prs Cu24. It's nice but I can't seem to bond with it. I have been looking at Swamp ash specials lately though. Unless I can get Hamer to do a ash bodied studio with a h/s/h config and a maple set neck. Edited because dyslexia is a bicth.
  7. My and my Families thoughts and prayers are with you. We were lucky, we have survived cancer in my family with my sister 6 years ago and had a scare back in November with my GF. Thankfully it was negative.
  8. I haven't heard the P90's in the Jr. yet. For my Artist, I was really pleased with the 59 combo it came with. And I like the Seths in the Newport pro. I can't stand the JB, never could, never will, it's like all harsh and no tone. Only problem I have is I hate to spend money on pickups just to experiment, Lollars, WCR, Fralins just seem to cost too much if I'm uncertain about them.
