  1. "Someone doctored up Greg and Kiz to be veterans..." How much do you want to wager that the mods have already received alerts/complaints about that?
  2. Those were (from the info I have) offshore-made Genesis models. They also came in the version with the cutouts in the body like the one that Joe Perry plays in the Run DMC "Walk This Way" video. That one wasn't a Schecter I dont' think though. IIRC, the one Perry had was US made-the imports were bolt necks (don't know what Perry's was) and eventually had the solid body w/o the cutouts. Not sure about the accuracy, there is precious little out there, but I looked around a few years ago and that was what I came up with.
  3. 80s Schecters were pretty decent guitars. I always dug the PT/Saturns that Pete Townshend played. I've had a couple and still have one (probably not for much longer-damned GAS!). Very well made for the most part.
  4. "Humbucker From Heck" would sound like a more appropriate name. It sounds gosh darn pleasant.
  5. Hmmm-every one I've seen had rosewood boards too.
  6. Many of the newer ones I've seen were either used or had been in a shop for a while. True, I see a lot of new ones as well. As for the 10-15% number, that is only on the ones that I've personally seen, if the number is that high. The ones I have seen often have really dry looking fingerboards too (on the sides). I've wondered if it was a care/storage issue in those cases. I've only had one Hamer with that problem (and it was very minor)and I've owned between 80-90 over the years (my wife is thankful that I only have a fraction of those still around!).
  7. The last Arlington Heights guitar was a korina Vector (#747993-002) with a completion date of 3/21/97. Quite a few instruments in mid-production were sent to CT for finishing. Yes, the Vector was not the 2d one in the run of 72 (in fact, #72 had been completed a few days before this one was logged in), but remember that the run of 72 was not done in sequential order like the Standards. IIRC, the reason for that was so that people who owned the limited edition Standards could get a matching numbered Vector if it was available. Hameritis may still exist on occasion, but post-CT, it is far rarer in my experience. I have yet to see it on a single CT instrument and I've played, examined, fondled several hundred. Not the case on the pre-'97 ones, where I see it about 10-15% of the time on the ones I've seen.
  8. That one wouldn't have been available at budget prices. Glad Hamer made that one. They sure have made some cool guitars, especially lately again!
  9. He's gotta pay the $300 tax for a MG though.
  10. Holy Fu@%. I'm laughin' my ass off at this thread! That's Entertainment! Hmmm Hamer building a set neck Chap... Could have happened. Or maybe not. How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? The world may never know.
  11. Jack: Take it easy. They replaced that neck (at this point) close to a decade ago. It has been hanging on the wall in the shop (the twisted E=MC2 neck) since at least 1998. Vernon brought his guitar with the NEW neck to HFC1 in 1998.
