  2. I am the third person to register! Andrew.
  3. I'm pretty sure that the FBII is sold, and I will probably pull the auction tomorrow. Andrew.
  4. It all really depends on the shipping quote, but £140 appears to be an absolute minimum. £740 is US$1410. And it's very exchange rate sensitive. Trans-atlantic trading is just too costly to consider. Neck is fairly flat, but not shredder flat, and quite wide. I suppose it is most like a 1986 Chap Custom. The guitar is quite heavy, too, which is unlike a 1986 Chap Custom. Andrew.
  5. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hamer-USA-Firebird-F...1QQcmdZViewItem I've put my black FBII on eBay UK. I've said UK only, as US/Canadian shipping adds a huge £140 to the price, making the total somewhere aroung US$1500. But if any HFCers contact me, I can work something out. Andrew.
  6. Doesn't look quite right to me. Strange line on the rear of the headstock looks like a repair. Comparing the logo to Rick Nielsen's proto-Sunburst, again not quite there. Homemade logo, maybe? Really points to a headstock repair and refinish. And just how many different machines has it had in its life? Large marker dots mean it could be from the batch between about 8 0250 and 8 0350. The market is often right on these things. No bids yet at 41500, a real 1977 would have reached that easily. Every time a numberless Sunburst appears, it is one of the 'four'. I've seen more than half a dozen of the 'four' advertised over the years. Andrew.
  7. Any suggestions? Andrew.
  8. Anybody know the best way to clean a pau ferro fingerboard (on a T62)? The wood has darker patches where that commonly played notes are, and I was wondering the best way to get the fingergrease out of the wood and get back to a uniform colour. Never seen the problem with rosewood as that doesn't seem to be affected by human secretions, but pau ferro is more prone to staining and bleaching. Andrew.
  9. I stand to be corrected, but I think that Hamer carves the fingerboard such that it is cambered a little more on the bass side which isn't a big problem but may feel a little odd when reverse strung. However, the truss rod runs down the middle so it matters not one bit which way up it is strung! Andrew.
  10. The final arbiter has to be the market. The Union Jack Blitz on eBay has original case and hardware, a much rarer finish and has not had switches added. It has stalled at $580 and will probably end at about $750. As I said above 3+3 Blitzes are one of the real bargain Hamers now, and are seriously under-rated. My opinion only, but the 3+3 headstock gives much better tuning stability (without a lock-nut) than the hockey stick style. Andrew.
  11. On the b/w zebra Blitz, the Floyd is an early one but doesn't look original. Clues are the non-original backplate, the nut doesn't bolt through the neck and the Hamerlok tuners. Although none are definitive proof! The laser pearl/midnight pearl zebra Blitz was another eBay.de accident - I bid on the opening day the starting price (which was low) fully expecting to be outbid and I wasn't. Blitzes are great, especially the 3+3 ones, and they are still bargains!
  12. Or you could sound like Tommy Bolin on Last Concert In Japan (Deep Purple):- Like a complete fucking talentless (and soon to be dead) idiot!
  13. I have a sustain block SSI. I know of at least one SSII with a sustain block that belongs to another HFCer. But they are the only two original ones I know to. http://uk.geocities.com/largeat/index.html
  14. That's almost too confusing. So he's selling this one to avoid being confused with PhantomA5? Who is PhantomA5? What about the illegitimate children, Phantom and PhantomCustom? And the long-lost relative, Phantom12?
  15. Great guitar! Has it lost its little locking screws on the Hamerlock tuners? It is a Phantom A5, though. A5 looks like AS apparently, for Andy Summers. GT pic. below. Andrew. http://uk.geocities.com/largeat/index.html
