Modifications: - Head conversion - from 3x3 to banana headstock. It looks like they did a good job, unfortunately serial number and original logo were lost. There also questions about stability as upper strings are now pulling from the section added to the headstock - Some hardware replaced - Repainted to white (based on video it used to be blue) - Checkered pattern added on front only. Not sure it works the same on Reverb, however on eBay some buyers use this as a strategy to motivate sellers into discounts. Logic goes like this - someone puts an item in their cart, doesn't buy, and after a few days seller starts to think - they are on the edge, let's give them a discount to push them into buying. I've noticed that after I add items to my eBay cart I start getting offers from sellers. Me personally - I don't really pay attention to items in someone's cart.

So, why $5K markup? Because seller says that painted Union Jack is worth extra $5K!!!! Original factory finishes are scarce and demand high prices, and that's what the seller implies here, yet if you look closer at the pics you'll notice that: 1) Under the paint it looks like a normal wood grain of a thin veneer Special top. 2) Red paint surface is bubbly and uneven, not something you'd expect from Hamer workshop at the time (especially evident in pic #14). This looks more like an overspray one would do in their garage. 3) Red paint is applied over dings - see pic #8. New guitar at the factory would not have these dings, it's obvious that well played instrument was used for painting over. To me this looks like an aftermarket amateur paint job and sorry attempt to extract big money from the buyers.
