  1. Short out? Or do you mean lose connection? If you don't want to replace it, there are 2 things you can do. If it is really loose, remove the football plate which will give you access to the jack. Very carefully bend in the leg that rides the plug and drops into the cable plug tip just a little. It is easiest to use a pair of needle nose pliers. Then, get a Q-Tip wet with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol (I use 91%) and insert it into the jack, rotate it and move it in and out. Be sure to clean the complete inside of the barrel part of the jack, and rub along the leg that drops into/touches the cable plug tip. Insert a cable and you will see where the connection is made. If the Q-Tip is black or a little dirty, repeat with a new Q-Tip until it is clean, then use a dry Q-Tip and repeat to dry it. You will notice a tigher fit and a better electrical connection. I also use a clean cloth/paper towel and alcohol and clean my cable plugs.

  4. That's is a form of marketing. A very good way to advertise their skills.
  5. Whatever someone is willing to pay. There is no set value. I had one where some said it was worth only X dollars, and I got 2X dollars for it. Marketing and timing have a lot to do with it.
  6. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=7404135251 US $1,700.00 Auction ended early with Buy It Now.
  7. Look at this. Is this a crack in the finish only, or is the wood cracked as well? I say the wood is cracked as well, because it would have had to in order to lift the finish and create a fault line like that. The owner says "the guitar has a gloss crack behind the head, but it's not broken." When I questioned him about it further, he said "I have shown the guitar to my guitar shop and they said that it's nothing important, a luthier has to refine the gloss and the paint, that's all." What do you think? I think he is FOS. (Sorry about the big pic, I wanted you to see the detail.)
