  1. i am not interested in the guitar anyway. i am only going for 4 digits, but i wanted to get only a confirmation from here if it is a 95 guitar. i send the info to the seller and told him that he gives incorrect information. When buying used, especially on ebay, you must do your homework first. Once you're hooked emotionally over a piece, it's over. You did the right thing by asking over here. As for the seller, he probably doesn't know the difference.
  2. how can possible buyers who are not so well informed about hamers kept away from such a missinformation. i mean between a 80s standard and a 95 standard should be a big difference in price.
  3. this standard is offered as a 1987 custom made. acc to my opinion the serialnumber 542811 indicates it as a 1994. am i right? gerry My Webpage the link in my quote message works
  4. happy birthday from gerry
  5. yeah thats a good offer, i was looking for that :-) i have a limited prs book with hardcover, anybody want that. i consider a trade with a 1977 sunburst without issues
  6. i thought it would be nice to have this book and looked for buying it. i went to the british bookshop in vienna and the offered the book to me for usd 2500,-- , a used one for usd 700,--. what happened with books? did i miss something. do the booksvalues grow parallel with the vintage guitar values? are those books made of vintage guitar wood?
  7. on which basis do you make your decision? if i buy a guitar and i have two options, i would never decide for one without trying the other. so did you play a vintage strat, did you ever touch a vintage strat, did you ever see a vintage strat in nature? if yes, i don t understand your statements, if no - man you miss so much. a very well built vintage instrument will be always having something which very well made new instrument will miss for the next 20 years...the life which it lived during those 20 and more years.
  8. yes - it is 10 times more, b u t the statement was if the strat would cost also usd 2.300,-- he would prefer the suhr. a 55 strat or a current suhr - regardless the price - .... for me also a no brainer.
  9. you think that fender and gibson did not know what they were doing for over 20 years. fender made the telecaster, the stratocaster, the precision bass, the telecasterbass, the jazzmaster, the jaguar, the fender acoustics king, kingman , the starcaster, the unique montego and ltd jazzguitar, the fender V and VI bass. all those instruments leo fender and his team invented, and developed over a period of 25 years. i don t know any bolt on guitar which is not based on any of above mentioned guitars and basses. i don t want to mention all the gibson models, because gibsons made the best acoustics already in the begin of the last century. till the end of the 60s the gibson invented in acoustic and electric guitars anything which was to invent. of course there are also other companies which made important pieces. so what do you think who were the idols of the modern luthiers during the last 30 years.
