  1. Saw some great bathroom graffiti at a local bar the other night: Roses are red Violets are blue They don't wanna believe it be like it is But it do.
  2. The wait is both arduous and totally worth it. Y'all think it's bad now, wait till the new thing that Mike has come up with for 0091 shows up on these pages!
  3. Stickers? I'm in. Patches? I'm in. Hats? Ts? Pint glasses? In for all.
  4. That's a lot of fingerboards. Settling in for this...
  5. Reading the last few posts, I realized I'm about 27 more guitars away, and I climbed back in bed and pulled the covers over my head.
  6. Something about all that figure, that finish, the ebony, bound body/neck but unbound headstock... all together with the dots just REALLY works. My compliments to the chef.
  7. I really want to hear how they sound.
  8. Looks like the old-style (bell) TRC, but matte finished or something. Is it single ply, or flipped over, or what's going on there?
  9. Count me among those who appreciate great tops but don't find them in my stable. I've only owned one guitar with a really nicely flamed top, and in the end it was too blinged out for me to really bond with. Maybe it was the gold hardware. Like dating a really hot woman where everything clicks except personalities. My often thought of and fondly remembered McInturff Glory custom:
  10. Good info, thanks. No paperwork of any kind came with the guitar..guitar and case, that's it. Do you have your bridge backed out some with the set screws towards the bottom of the guitar? Without engaging the set screws I wouldn't be able to intonate it. I don't know if you can tell in that pic, but the set screws are backed out just a bit, about 2 threads on the bass side and one thread out on the treble side. Intonates very well. I took another look at the cert on my guitar- I confused it with another guitar with Pig Tail hardware, this one has a Tone Pros wrap tail, and Tone Pros Klusons as well, incidentally.
  11. FWIW, my 2007 Special Korina was a custom run for Willcutt's, and it has that Pig Tail bridge as original spec. It's listed on the certificate, if you have the cert, I'd guess it's called out there, too. I ended up with WCR G90s in my special K, oh boy, those pickups are magical. Nice guitar man. Play it in good health.
  12. Can I get that in full matching track suit?
  13. Happy Turkey day, guys. I hope everyone ate way more than they should have
  14. Thanks for the responses guys.
  15. I've never owned an explorer shape guitar, so I'm not sure what feels right. I've played explorers with the strap in both spots, but not enough to have any preference. Anyone have an opinion on how well one style hangs vs. the other? Looks like I need to hit a GC or something for a couple hrs and try to play a few to compare... they're gonna love me. cmatthes- you mentioned a TKL case... has one been selected? Maybe I missed it.
  16. I have another Shishkov Question: What is the consensus of the upper strap button placement on the Standard/Ultimate shape? Most of the Standards I see have the button located at the center seam of the neck heel or slightly offset from there. Some Gibbys have the button located on the upper "horn" (nub?), and I notice that all of Rick Nielsen's Standards have it in that location as well. What Would Mike Do?
  17. Do you really get opportunities to use that pickups/west side story analogy often?
  18. Thanks for the reply, Josh! I agree with The Shark re: the middle position- I typically stay on that middle position and balance the contribution of the neck's and bridge's respective tones with the volume knobs.
  19. I figured as much- didn't mean to question whether something was considered, but rather just wondering what those considerations are...
  20. I was reading Josh's post on the Shishkov blog re: prototyping the pickups in the proto-Ultimate chassis. made me wonder- is the proto-Ultimate chambered? If so, was it just recapped with the same mahogany as the body? If not, wouldn't that affect the response (and hence the design) of the pickups? I would think the chassis that was built to design the pickups would ideally be as close as possible in construction to the final product that the pickups are being designed for... Or is the combination of the chambered mahogany body with the maple cap predictable enough that it can be accounted for when the pickups are in an all-mahogany body? Just curious as to how this works.
  21. I saw the Enola & Grace thread- Ted mentioned the Enola (bridge) would come standard with a lightly soldered on cover... Is that to say the planned stock config for the Ultimates is uncovered zebra neck, covered double cream bridge? Anyone know?
  22. Wow, thanks Mike. Way to bust it big out of the gates! Let me be the first to coin the term "The First 48"!
  23. Do you mean all the initial orders are being done in one run, or are there two runs? How many gtrs?
