earachemyeye Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 I know, it's not a Hamer but I just thought I'd let get this one out there for the interested bros. My local music store who's also a Hamer dealer just aquired a 1960 SG Special that is in incredibly good shape. It has NO finish checking, some scratches, worming, dings but nothing through to the wood. It was brought in by an elderly gent who is the original owner. He also brought in a 1960 Fender Tweed Champ which sounds great. At this time they haven't priced it yet (just arrived today). If your interested you can call toll free 1-866-535-9663 and ask for Al. Thanks!Joe
BCR Greg Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 1960 should be a slab body Special, the SG body started in 1961.Any pics?
sirDaniel Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 which store be that Joe? Maybe I'll spend Badgers money buying it
earachemyeye Posted April 15, 2006 Author Posted April 15, 2006 Greg it was a slab body with a really wierd neck joint. The back of the body overlapped the neck, no shelf there. Low serial # too, 3000 something. Sorry to report it has been sold already (sheesh). Seems the vintage store up the road got it for $2450. Next time maybe I should take out a loan on the spot.Joe
