JGravelin Posted January 11, 2025 Posted January 11, 2025 I bought this New as a back up, have used it maybe a total of 12 times. Original bag with strap, orignal box, powercord, and 1/4" -to - 1/8" headphone plug included. It is in great shape but took a light bash on a corner and no one in the band knows how that happened of course. Fk!!! It's minor, practically unnoticable, and purely cosmetic. I've accounted for this in the price. 800 watts of crystal clean and expert juicy power and tone into 4ohm and 2ohm; 400w into 8ohms. To my ears it's like Fender Showman meets Ampeg SVT. EQ points split the difference there too, I feel. And the DI out is 100% Studio Quality and is fantastic, right in line with my Neve RNDI. Feels like a tube amp to play through actually, and is so so good. All specs here: https://www.mesaboogie.com/en-US/p/Amp/6.D800/Black I'm selling because I've not actually ever needed it and it just sits around. $650.00 shipped. Photos coming shortly.
Steve Haynie Posted January 12, 2025 Posted January 12, 2025 Wonderful. Right series for me. Wrong model. I have been planning on getting the D-350 because I want to match an amp to a cabinet. The cabinet is 4 ohms and 400 watts. The D-350 puts out 350 watts at 4 ohms. My fear in buying the D-800 is that either someone might accidentally push the amp to see what it's got, or I am going to "experiment" with how loud I can get. I really do not want to blow a pair of EV speakers or a high end driver. A lot of reviews, many of them biased, have made the Subway series amps look desirable. The price on this D-800 amp is too right!

The price on this D-800 amp is too right! The D-350 is equally excellent and I totally get the safety there in keeping the watts equal to what the cab handles. I've got Eminence Kappalite 3015 standard (not the LF models) in both of my 15" cabs: 450w at 8 ohms. They are a perfect match to the 8ohm output of the D800 and with their high efficiency and broad frequency response, it's a perfect match for the head. And both cabs together - full 800w of output power with a combined 900w cab/speaker rating: man, it sounds really massive and good. I did price this right, yes! For someone, they are going to be so happy. Gotta get some photos up!!
