See-through finish on Californians

Were there Californians in Trans Red factory finish? Or it is aftermarket?

Yep as per the Facebook replies - Transparent red was a factory option.

I had a transparent yellow/honey finished one year ago. I think it was about $450 no case, had just standard Duncan's and boomers, back when you could find them cheap.

The body looks like mahogany, which I understood to be a body wood option. I think I’d prefer the sound of a hog body Californian over one with a maple body, but I’m sure they all sound unique.
