Sad news. In the 70’s, Great White was originally called Dante Fox, a local cover band in the San Gabriel Valley. They were known for their nuts-on renditions of Zep and Priest songs.

They eventually got management and changed their name. An independent EP was released which got enough airplay to get them a major label recording contract.

I saw them open for Judas Priest in 1984 at the Long Beach Sports Arena on the, “Defenders…”, tour. They kicked some serious ass! I’ve always admired Kendall’s playing. Although he can rip, he always seemed to play for the song, kind of like Mick Mars in a way.
