golem Posted January 29 Posted January 29 I bought the Rockway Archer. My personal take is it's the best Archer out there, but I love the versatility adding good EQ options to pedals give so most of my favorite pedals have at least 3 band EQ. If you set it flat it's basically a stock Klon KTR (Rockett helped design and build the KTR but had a disagreement with Bill). As someone who has a Tumnus Deluxe, a Sericon, and who has actually tried a real Klon, this is the best yet for my tastes. This is the PAS link in case you want to call Sweetwater to match: https://www.proaudiostar.com/j-rockett-audio-designs-rockaway-archer.html 1 Quote
velorush Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Does that work well as a non-boost / non-dirt EQ pedal, also? Quote

Move up to around 4:20 and he uses it as a clean boost. ETA: at about 10 in, Steve Stevens says with the gain down the amp will not distort and it makes a great clean boost even for acoustic guitar. You can get to a point where it has very little gain easily. In that case it would work much like an EQ. But it's slightly less transparent. I've heard some reviews that this is noisy, but I find it's less noisy than the average EQ pedal with my strat. 1 Quote

Sorry for the ambiguity, but you sussed out exactly what I was asking. Thanks for interpreting and especially for the opinion. 1 Quote
