prsguy Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Hello to all I'm looking for a specific vintage guitar : the Hamer Standard lefty with serial number 0120 (from 1978). A few years ago, I had the opportunity to buy it (it was being sold by Kozaxs who put it out for sale in Vintage Guitar Magazine), but due to financial troubles, I had to let it pass. I regretted it ever since..... But years have gone by and there's room for another guitar right now ! So I hope to trace this one again and finally make my dream come true. Could someone please point me in the right direction ? Any suggestions ?
cmatthes Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 I actually remember that one. I believe a forum member owns that guitar, but the going rate for 4-digits has nearly tripled since that one was for sale a few years ago! There's also a really cool Black Lefty 4-digit Standard (crowned and bound) owned by an HFC'er that is exceptional.
serial Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 I remember that one. Koz-Azs was pretty high priced back then, but the going rate for four digits has skyrocketed-particularly the ones made in 1979 or earlier (up to the mid-#0200s). That was a cool one for sure.I didn't have such great experiences with that place though. They ripped me off on parts orders by overcharging my credit card by 20% or more from the price of the item (advertised in VG, on his site AND written in ink on the bag the parts came in). He refused to answer calls or emails to correct it. I wasn't unhappy to see that fool out of regular rotation.
