jwood Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Dear List,My guitar has the incorrect bridge on it. I was wondering if any of you on the list have a used or new one for sale that is the correct model that would have been on my SS1 from the factory. I looked on Ebay and there are a few different kinds. Is there a certain model or style that I should be looking for, for it to be correct?I see this one right now on ebay:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=230011056083I imagine they made more than one style over the years. Which one should I be looking for? I don't want to buy the wrong one.I am also looking for all three of the of the original/correct pickups, and I am missing one of the toggle switches for the pickups.Anyone out there want to trade thier (still working) stuff for cash? Thanks,Jeff Wood208-724-8052
scepter-V-lemmy Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 I have the black one (in parts) which came of my SS 1: It's not in great shape, but better than the one in that ebay listing. It has the 42mm spring block, and the black chrome is rubbed off the fine tuner screws. It also was upgraded to the thumbscrew arm instead of the wrench-lock arm. Lemme know what you need, I may be able to hook you up with the pieces.
jwood Posted July 28, 2006 Author Posted July 28, 2006 I am looking for the Floyd Rose, and also looking for all three of the of the original/correct pickups, and I am missing one of the toggle switches for the pickups. And the cover that covers the center cavity on the back. Why don't you give me a call on my cell phone at 208-724-8052. I will call you right back if you want to save on long distance. or my email is aaajeff@(take out this)hotmail.comI am interested in your bridge for sure. Thanks,Jeff
Travis Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 What came stock on those? Was it an OFR or a Schaller? And was it chrome or black? I've got a chrome Scahller stamped 42mm long block trem just sitting around not being used. If that's period correct and you're interested, let me know.
serial Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 The correct one for the SS1 is the original style Floyd Rose (the one that only goes down) with the "Floyd Rose" stamp on it. I've owned Hamer SS1s with those in chrome, black, gold and white with gold hardware. The correct one for your guitar will match your tuners. The two SS2s I have have 'em in gold and chrome. The Hamer stamped Floyd Rose is correct for the '88 and later ones and will have the body top route for pullups. Most likely, I'd guess yours is earlier than '88 though. The one on eBay is correct for '85-'88.
Jimbilly Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 The black one on my '87 SS1 is identical to the black one on my '87 SSII, -so black is correct as well. Screw in trem arms on both.

Thanks, Jeff I hate swell phones, but I'll email you some pics of what I've got.
serial Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 If it is an '85 or '86 to be completely correct, it'll have the non collared screw in arm that flops. Crappiest part about that design IMHO. The collared ones were MUCH better.
jwood Posted July 28, 2006 Author Posted July 28, 2006 Dear Cepter-V-lemmyNo problem, I am interested as long as it is the same as the last poster described:"If it is an '85 or '86 to be completely correct, it'll have the non collared screw in arm that flops."You can email me at my email address: [email protected] or call me at my office tomorrow at 208-343-8883. Ask for Jeff Wood. Also, thanks for your advice serial..Jeff
