hamerhead Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 A buddy has a '78 JCM 800 Lead Series head (100W) that, due to lean times, he has to sell. He's had it since new and I tell him not to sell it, but he needs the cash. If I were a Marshall guy I'd have it in a heartbeat. What's it worth (in average condition)?
santellavision Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 About $800. I've seen them go for $700 to about $900 in Mint cond.

That'll make a big difference in the value.
kurtsstuff Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 What AdmiralB said.......1978 would make it a JMP......81 and up a JCM....model if master volume on either version would be 2203..if JCM could be a 2210 channel switcher or 1959 super lead??
hamerhead Posted November 5, 2006 Author Posted November 5, 2006 See--I told you I wasn't a Marshall guy! It's a JMP 800.
kurtsstuff Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 See--I told you I wasn't a Marshall guy! It's a JMP 800. Just JMP.......no 800...hehe....next question to make it simple is....2 inputs or 4 inputs.....ya know...those little holes ya plug a cable into???...
hamerhead Posted November 6, 2006 Author Posted November 6, 2006 What's a cable? I'll have him bring it over so I can get details and pics. I thought all Marshalls were alike........
gkelm Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 See--I told you I wasn't a Marshall guy! It's a JMP 800. Sure it's a '78? Read the face plate (or show pics). 700-900 = good ballpark IMO. Greg
hamerhead Posted November 28, 2006 Author Posted November 28, 2006 Jeez, sorry to leave ya hangin', Kurt. The front says 'JCM 800 Lead Series' with 2 inputs and master volume, and the back says 'MK2 Master Model 100W Lead', which means my buddy was off a couple years (he's old - whaddaya expect?!?)Anyway, it's found a home with a fellow HFCer, and that's very cool. It helps my bud out of a tight spot. WhooHoo!
