Marshall Value ??

A buddy has a '78 JCM 800 Lead Series head (100W) that, due to lean times, he has to sell. He's had it since new and I tell him not to sell it, but he needs the cash. If I were a Marshall guy I'd have it in a heartbeat.

What's it worth (in average condition)?

If it's a '78 it's not a JCM 800, and if it's a JCM 800, it's at least an '81.

What model is it (Master Volume, Super Lead, channel switcher, etc.)? That'll make a big difference in the value.

What AdmiralB said.......1978 would make it a JMP......81 and up a JCM....model if master volume on either version would be 2203..if JCM could be a 2210 channel switcher or 1959 super lead??

See--I told you I wasn't a Marshall guy! It's a JMP 800.

I'll have him bring it over so I can get details and pics. I thought all Marshalls were alike........ :):(

Sure it's a '78? Read the face plate (or show pics). :)

700-900 = good ballpark IMO.

Jeez, sorry to leave ya hangin', Kurt.

The front says 'JCM 800 Lead Series' with 2 inputs and master volume, and the back says 'MK2 Master Model 100W Lead', which means my buddy was off a couple years (he's old - whaddaya expect?!?)

Anyway, it's found a home with a fellow HFCer, and that's very cool. It helps my bud out of a tight spot. WhooHoo!
